A 40-year-old Arnold man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident after a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 141 and Jeffco Boulevard in Arnold that left a young girl hurt. The accident happened just after 12:30 a.m. on Feb. 25, Arnold Police reported.
The man allegedly ran a stoplight, causing a collision with another vehicle. During the collision, one of the door’s on the other vehicle came open and a child fell out of the vehicle. She was transported to an area hospital with injuries, Detective Lt. James Jones said.
He said the man allegedly left the scene of that accident but was found a short time later in the Steak ‘n Shake parking lot in the Arnold Crossroads development where he allegedly drove into a curb and tree, Jones said.
The man was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, assault, running a stop light and careless and imprudent driving.
