A 43-year-old Arnold man was arrested after he allegedly took part in a drug transaction and then fled from police. He was arrested after the motorcycle he was riding broke down on I-55, Arnold Police said.
At about 9:45 p.m. June 19, Arnold Police reportedly saw the man take part in a drug transaction on the parking lot at the BP gas station, 3700 Jeffco Blvd. When they attempted to talk to the man, he allegedly rode off on a 2015 Honda CBR motorcycle, the report said.
The officers chased the motorcycle on Jeffco Boulevard, but stopped the pursuit after the suspect allegedly ran a red light at the Richardson Road intersection and left the Arnold city limits. But, while officers were headed back to Arnold on I-55, they saw the motorcycle on the side of the interstate just south of Richardson Road. The motorcycle appeared to have broken down from mechanical problems, according to the report.
No drugs were found on the man. However, he was wanted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office for twice violating a court order and on warrants for unlawful use of a weapon, second-degree property damage and fourth-degree assault. So, he was arrested and taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and held for the Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Arnold Police will seek charges against him through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for felony resting arresting, failure to register, driving with a revoked license and careless and imprudent driving, Detective Lt. Jason Valentine said.
