Erik Robert Berg, 53, of Arnold has been accused of sending inappropriate messages to a girl in an attempt to start a sexual relationship. He allegedly sent inappropriate messages over a 10-month period to the girl, who was younger than 15, according to court documents.
Berg has been charged with felony enticement or attempted enticement of a child. He was arrested on Feb. 24, and as of Feb. 25, he was being held on a $20,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, court records said.
According to a probable-cause statement filed by the Arnold Police, Berg sent messages to the girl through text messages, Snapchat and email between July 2022 and April 2023. In the messages, he allegedly referred to the child by sexual nicknames.
Berg also allegedly requested that the child sleep with him, the report said.
