Arnold Police arrested a 22-year-old Fenton man for allegedly stealing merchandise worth $1,665.76 from the Lowe’s store in Arnold where he worked, police reported.

Officers were called at about 11:40 a.m. Aug. 10 to the store at 920 Arnold Commons Drive after other Lowe’s employees conducted an internal investigation. The suspect was working when police arrived, the report said.

The reported thefts occurred between July 26 and Aug. 8. However, details about how the man allegedly stole the items were not reported.

The man was taken to the Police Station where he was booked and released pending application for warrants. Arnold Police will seek stealing charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said.

Christopher said stolen merchandise worth $1,214.78 was recovered after the man was arrested, but as of Aug. 17, the remaining $450.98 worth of stolen merchandise was still missing. Anyone with information about the stolen items should call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
