The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary at the Imo’s restaurant, 2000 El Lago Drive, south of Arnold. The burglary was reported at 1:30 a.m. May 9, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

An employee told deputies that when he arrived at work that day, he found a $1 bill on the counter, the cash register open and empty, and a cash drawer missing. He also discovered a window had been broken, so it looks like that’s how the culprit got inside the restaurant, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office did not report the amount of money stolen or an estimate for the damage to the business.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Grant Bissell said May 31 the register drawer was recovered by Crystal City Police. However, there were no arrests.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 636-797-5515.
