Arnold Police are investigating a report that a man pointed a gun at a woman working at Palm Beach Tan and demanded she hand over money from the cash register. No money was inside the register, though, and the would-be robber eventually left empty-handed, police reported.
The woman said she was cleaning windows at about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 1 at the tanning salon, 219 Arnold Crossroads Center, when a man walked into the business. He allegedly grabbed at his waistband and demanded she give him all the money in the cash register, the report said.
The employee told the man no cash was in the register because the company’s computer system was down. Then, the man allegedly pulled out a gun and again demanded money, according to the report.
The woman turned the computer screen toward the man to show him the system was not working, and he allegedly cursed and left the business. The employee was not injured, Arnold Police reported.
As of Oct. 7, the man had not been identified, Cpl. Brett Ackermann said. He asks anyone with information about the incident to call Arnold Police at 636-296-3204.
