Amber Christine Govro, 38, of the Festus area has been charged for allegedly attacking a man and woman at a home in the 2400 block of Sunshine Acres south of Festus, court documents said.
The Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on March 31 charged Govro with third-degree domestic assault, a class E felony that carries a penalty of up to four years in prison. Govro was arrested on April 10 and she was being held on a $4,000 surety-bond, as of April 11, at the Jefferson County Jail in Hillsboro, according to court records.
Govro allegedly attacked the two people on Feb. 27. The man told investigators that Govro had thrown a bowl that broke in the kitchen, and he attempted to stop her from breaking more items by wrapping his arms around her, the case’s probable-cause statement said.
The man said Govro bit him and went to the living room, where she allegedly pushed a woman down. The two women become entangled and fell, and Govro allegedly hit the other woman while they were on the ground and she bit the man when he tried to separate the two women, the report said.
Jefferson County assistant prosecuting attorney Tiffany Baker is prosecuting the case.
