Nearly $3,000 worth of air-conditioning equipment was stolen from an unlocked, detached shed at the Denny’s restaurant, 1717 West Fifth St., in Eureka. The theft happened between 9:30 p.m. April 25 and 1:30 p.m. April 28, Eureka Police reported.

The restaurant manager told police five Trane air conditioning compressors, each valued at $500, and four air-conditioning fans, each valued at $100, were stolen from the shed. A crowbar was found among trees near the restaurant, the report said.

As of May 10, none of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects, Capt. David Wilson said. Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call Eureka Police at 636-938-6600.
