An air-conditioning compressor and tools, altogether valued at about $2,100, recently were stolen from a home in the 7300 block of Mulberry Road in Barnhart, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Between 10 a.m. June 12 and 3 p.m. June 16, while the residents were out of state, someone used a tool to pry off locks on two sheds on the property and stole numerous tools from them. The culprit also stole air-conditioning equipment from outside the home, the report said.
In addition to the air-conditioning compressor, stolen items included a black and yellow DeWalt drill, a hammer, a tape measure and a hand saw, according to the report.
Copper pipe was cut so the compressor could be removed, and an electrical box near the air-conditioning unit was found open, the report said.
A deputy was able to take a fingerprint from the electrical box, and it was submitted as evidence, according to the report.
None of the stolen items had been recovered, and there were no suspects or arrests as of today (June 25), said Capt. Ron Arnhart of the Sheriff’s Office.
He asks anyone with information about the theft to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
