A 28-year-old House Springs man has been arrested for an alleged carjacking and kidnapping. He was arrested following a police chase that started in Cedar Hill and ended in Robertsville, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.

The man allegedly stole a woman’s car this morning in St. Louis and left with her in it, but he eventually let her out around Hwy. BB and Regina Road near Cedar Hill. Then, the victim reportedly walked to a nearby house and called 911 at 11:50 a.m., the report said.

The woman was not hurt during the incident, according to the report.

Shortly after the 911 call, deputies reportedly spotted the suspect driving the victim’s car, a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, near Hwy. 30 and Local Hillsboro Road in Cedar Hill, and the suspect sped away and refused to pull over for deputies, the report said.

Eventually, the suspect stopped, got out of the car and ran away near Shannon Lane in Robertsville, which is in Franklin County, and both Jefferson County and Franklin County deputies chased the suspect on foot, according to the report.

The suspect was taken into custody a short time later, with the help of a Franklin County Sheriff’s Office K-9 officer, or police dog.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Pacific Police Department also helped with the arrest, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported.
