The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the recent theft of weapons and jewelry worth about $5,000 from a home in the 3000 block of Sandy Church Road in the Hillsboro area. The incident occurred between 9:10 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. May 20, the report said.
Someone entered an unlocked garage door and then forced open a door from the garage to the house to get inside. Stolen items included a semi-automatic pistol, a shotgun, eight boxes of ammunition and miscellaneous jewelry, according to the report.
As of May 24, the stolen items had not been recovered and no arrests had been made, Sgt. Matthew Moore said. Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 636-797-5515.
