Crews will close the entrance ramp from Hwy. A to northbound I-55, as well as one lane of a stretch of northbound I-55, starting at 9 p.m. Saturday, March 7, and will reopen the ramp and lane at 5 a.m. Sunday, March 8, the agency announced. In addition, Central Avenue under I-55 in Festus will be closed from 8:30 p.m. Saturday through 5 a.m. Sunday.
The closures are necessary to allow crews to pour the deck of a new northbound I-55 bridge over Central Avenue, MoDOT officials said in a written statement.
Hwy. A drivers may detour around the closures by traveling east to northbound Truman Boulevard (Hwy. 61-67) and taking that to westbound McNutt Street and entering northbound I-55 off of McNutt Street. Central Avenue will detour under I-55 at North Fifth Street. All detours will be signed.
All work is weather permitting.

The bridge work is part of an estimated $246 million I-55 Corridor Improvements project that runs from just north of Pevely south to just south of Festus.
