A problem at a substation that occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. today (April 25) left 490 customers in Hematite without power.
An Ameren Missouri spokeswoman said crews have been working on the problem ever since and all of the 490 customers affected should have power restored by early afternoon.
The cause was a “non-weather-related equipment malfunction at a substation,” she said.
