A window cleaner saved three ducklings that had plunged into a sewer.

Nick Court, 58, leapt into action and reached into the manhole to rescue the stranded ducklings outside a customer's house in Mulbarton, Norfolk.

He can then be heard comically saying "thanks very much, you're welcome" as the mom waddles away in the other direction after being reunited with her babies.

Nick, from Newton-Flotman, in Norfolk., had been busy cleaning a customer's windows with his wife Hayley, 49, when he heard the mother quacking in distress.

He said: "I could hear a duck sounding upset when I went to get a ladder from my van, and I could hear small squeaks of ducklings but I didn't know where they were coming from.

"After I had completed the job and was taking the equipment back to my van, I noticed it was coming from the storm drain.

"I could see three little ducklings in there which had fallen through.

"I opened it up and got them out one by one.

"The mom was quacking the whole time as if she was in a mood with me or her children for falling in.

"The last one was a pain to get out, it was swimming away from me, it must have been scared.

"I got it out and tossed it towards mom as I didn't want to drop it back into the drain.

"The mom had some final annoyed quacks at me before strutting off in the other direction without saying thank you.

"It is quite funny, really."

The mom was later seen happy with all five of her children after the incident which happened at around 8:30 am on Friday, June 19.

Nick says he isn't a hero but rather "did what anyone else would have done".

His wife Hayley said: "It was a lovely moment - I'm happy I got it on video.

"Who doesn't love ducklings, I'm just most happy they are safe."
