The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will hold a public meeting from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at VFW Post 3777, 900 VFW Drive in Crystal City to seek comments about areas within the I-55 Corridor Improvements Project that qualify for noise abatement measures, or noise barriers.
In addition to commenting, attendees will be asked to vote on whether sound walls should be built at recommended locations.
The I-55 Corridor Improvements Project area includes the cities of Pevely, Herculaneum, Festus, and Crystal City. The purpose of this project is to address traffic and safety concerns along the I-55 corridor and account for future development and growth patterns in the region.
