The Missouri Department of Transportation has bought a fragment of land from the Fox C-6 School District and secured rights to use another piece of property for an upcoming road pavement project in Arnold.
On Feb. 16, the Board of Education voted unanimously in a closed session to provide MoDOT with a temporary easement deed for land in front of the Fox campus and a general warranty deed for land in front of the Fox C-6 Service Center.
MoDOT will pay Fox $14,150 to use the land along Jeffco Boulevard for a spring 2022 street pavement and sidewalk improvement project.
Fox Chief Financial Officer John Stewart said as part of the deal, the district sold a 1,300-square-foot parcel near the north entrance of the service center.
The Fox campus is at 751 Jeffco Blvd., and the Service Center is at 849 Jeffco Blvd.
MoDOT said it will repave Jeffco Boulevard from north of the Meramec River to south of Collier Drive, covering about 4 miles of road.
MoDOT also will upgrade guardrails to meet Federal Highway Administration safety standards, and in compliance with its ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Transition plan, MoDOT will upgrade the existing pedestrian facilities, including ensuring all signals within the project limits are accessible.
The project is expected to be completed by summer 2023, according to MoDOT’s website.
