The city of Festus announced that the Jim and Michelle Berger Pickleball Courts in Jokerst Memorial Park will reopen at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 13 for public use.
The courts sit on the southern end of the park, 525 S. Mill St.
The Festus City Council approved the project at a cost of $526,800 for McConnell & Associates to demolish the old six-court pickleball facility and construct a brand new eight-court facility. The project, which began in January, has also included refurbishing the parking lot, installing updated lighting and putting up new fencing.
A rededication ceremony for the courts is scheduled for 8 a.m. June 24. The courts’ name Jim and Michelle Berger Pickleball Courts will carry over from the old courts to the new courts, Festus city officials said.
