For those searching for a new career, the fifth annual Jefferson County Job Fair, set for Wednesday, May 31, is the place to be.

The fair will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, and will feature representatives from a variety of businesses eager to hire.

Employers will be available both inside and outside the venue to speak with prospective employees and take resumes.

Peggy Scott, publisher for Leader Publications, said the fair is a great opportunity for job seekers of any age and experience level.

“The Job Fair is for people new to the job market, those with years of experience, new graduates from high school and college,” Scott said. “It’s for all different experience levels.”

If attendees need a little extra help in perfecting their professional image, services for other employment-related areas will be on hand.

Jefferson College’s Workforce and Employment Services will have representatives to offer resume advice. They will also bring along professional clothing from the college’s free career closet.

In addition, photographers Ron and Lisa Rigdon will offer free headshots that attendees can then use to freshen up their social media.

For those wanting to continue the job search or sharpen their professional image, the Jefferson County Library will have representatives at the fair to provide information on library resources, such as tools to build a cover letter or lessons on computer skills.

A special section will be published in the May 25 Leader with detailed information about Job Fair activities, schedules and businesses that will participate.

The presenting sponsor is Express Employment Professionals. Other sponsors include Leader Publications, the Arnold Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson College, the Fox C-6 School District, the city of Arnold and a new sponsor this year, the Jefferson County Library.
