A rider on a Jeffco Express bus suffered a possible heart attack Monday morning (June 18) and was taken to an area hospital for treatment, authorities reported.
The gender, age and town of the rider was not available.
At 10:17 a.m., the Rock Township Ambulance District got a call that the bus and rider were at the Arnold Recreation Center, 1695 Missouri State Road, and after responding to the location, transported the patient to SSM Heath St. Clair Hospital in Fenton, Rock Township Chief Jerry Appleton said.
Jeffco Express program manager Dennis Murphy said the rider was on the bus with a companion, who went with the patient to the hospital.
The victim “was complaining of chest pains,” Murphy said.
He said the Jeffco Express bus ran about 25 to 30 minutes behind schedule after the incident occurred that day.
The Jefferson County Community Partnership, a nonprofit organization, operates Jeffco Express, which has buses that run countywide as well as just inside the city of Arnold.
