Proud grandparents still have plenty of time to get an entry in for the annual “Show Off Your Grandkids” photography contest, sponsored by Grand Times, Leader Publications’ magazine for seniors.
There also is still time for interested vendors to snag a spot at the Expo, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 15, at the Quality Inn in Festus.
The photo contest is open to Jefferson County and Eureka grandparents age 50 and older. Deadline for entries is 5 p.m. Friday, May 27. First prize is $100; second prize is $75; and third prize will be $50.
The photo must have been taken by the grandparent who submits the entry.
Photos will be judged on creativity, composition and technical aspects such as crop, focus and lighting.
Winning photos will be published in the Grand Times included the June 9 issue of the paper.
To be eligible for publication, all entries must include the following information:
■ Photographer’s name, address and phone number. We cannot process your entry without these.
■ The first and last names of children in the photo and how they are related to you.
■ When and where the photo was taken.
■ A brief explanation of why the photograph is special to you.
