Festus city officials honored outgoing Ward 1 Councilman Gary Underwood on April 11 at his last meeting as a council member. Underwood did not seek re-election in the April 5 election. He served on the council for a total of 12 years – one year in 2009 and the final 11 years from 2011 to 2022.
