Byrnes Mill swears in Frank Selvaggio

Frank T. Selvaggio recently was sworn in as the new Byrnes Mill Police chief. The swearing-in ceremony was held during the Nov. 7 Byrnes Mill Board of Aldermen meeting.

Selvaggio, 60, of Affton became chief on Oct. 25, after former chief Gary Dougherty was reassigned and named the city’s director of community relations. Selvaggio has 37 years of law enforcement experience. He previously worked for the Clayton Police Department for 28 years, retiring as a sergeant. After that, he worked for the Washington University Police Department where he served as a lieutenant and the commander of the Bureau of Investigations and Special Services.
