Tickets are still available for the 31st Jeffersonian Awards Banquet.
The Jefferson County Growth Association sponsors the event, which will be held Thursday, Oct. 21, at Villa Antonio Winery, 3660 Linhorst Road, in the Hillsboro area.
At the event, four awards will be presented to those who display service, integrity and civic involvement, said Sharon Floyd, executive director of the JCGA, which promotes business and economic development throughout the county.
This year’s honorees include Mercy Hospital Jefferson for the large business category and Villa Antonio Winery for the small business award.
The nonprofit award will go to Living Life on 2 Wheels, which promotes bicycle riding in the county.
Donna Litton will be honored with the individual award.
“She’s a well-known individual,” Floyd said of Litton. “She works for Fortune Bank and has been involved with the Arnold Chamber of Commerce, has worked closely with the Twin City chamber, Backstoppers and the Growth Association board.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and attendees will have a chance to watch videos featuring the honorees.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program that includes the award presentations.
“It’s a wonderful experience to hear from the honorees,” Floyd said. “They seem very excited about being recognized for their work.”
Floyd said social-distancing guidelines will be encouraged. The presentation will be held in a pavilion at Villa Antonio that will allow doors to be opened.
“It will be kind of like being outdoors but under cover,” Floyd said. “If we need them, they’ll provide heaters.”
Last year, COVID prevented the banquet from being held, but Floyd said it’s not always held annually.
“We used to do them every two years,” she said. “But it is exciting getting back to in-person events.”
Tickets are $65 for Growth Association members and $75 for others. Tickets may be ordered through the association’s website, jcgamo.org.
“We’ll be accepting reservations through Oct. 15 or so,” she said.
