The Fox Trot shirt from last year's event.

The deadline to be guaranteed a shirt for the upcoming Fox Trot is 5 p.m. Friday (Sept. 13).

The fifth annual Fox Trot, a fundraising 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk, will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road off Jeffco Boulevard near the Meramec River. The 5K is at 9 a.m. and the fun run/walk at 10 a.m.

It costs $25 to enter the 5K and $10 for the fun run/walk. Proceeds will benefit the C-6 Educational Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides educational and welfare grants to help students throughout the Fox C-6 School District.

The overall male and female 5K winners each will receive a $100 cash prize and trophy. The top three finishers in each 5K category will receive a medal. All fun run/walk participants will receive a medal, too.

Both 5K and fun run/walk entrants will receive shirts, goodie bags, water and snacks. However, only those who sign up by Friday are guaranteed a shirt, and in the size they choose.

Entertainment will be included in the event. In addition, the C-6 school that has the most students, staff and family members register for the event will receive a $500 educational grant.

The Arnold Tourism Commission is the co-sponsor for the event, and Mercy Health is another major sponsor. More sponsors are being sought.

Fleet Feet will provide chip timing and online registration. To register, go to fleetfeetstlouis.com/racing/highlighted-races/fox-trot.
