Fox School District

Fox C-6 School District residents will have the chance to let Board of Education members know what characteristics they want in the district’s next superintendent.

Public forums to discuss the superintendent search have been scheduled for 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday (Feb. 18) in the gyms at Fox High School, 751 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold, and Seckman High School, 2800 Seckman Road, in Imperial.

Fox also emailed a survey on Feb. 12 to students, teachers and families to gather information about the qualities people want in the next superintendent. Community members also may take part in the survey by going to the district’s website at fox.k12.mo.us.

The surveys must be completed by 5 p.m. Thursday, the district said.

On Jan. 20, Nisha Patel announced she will step down as Fox’s superintendent after this school year to take a job as the superintendent of the School District of Clayton.

On Feb. 2, board members hired EGL (Education, Governance and Leadership) Association to oversee the district’s search to hire a new superintendent. The search firm helped develop the survey and will lead the forums.

If the forums cannot be held on Thursday because of inclement, the district has scheduled a makeup date at the same times and locations for Monday (Feb. 22).

Because of concerns about the possible spread of COVID-19, the district will allow just 250 people at a time to attend each of the forums, and everyone will be required to wear a face mask. The sessions are scheduled to last about 45 minutes, Fox district officials announced on its website.

Information gathered from the forums, surveys and virtual focus groups with staff members planned for Wednesday (Feb. 17) will be shared at a future board meeting.

Board President Vicki Hanson said board members hope to hire a new superintendent by March 16.
