Festus City Council members, who normally meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, have changed their meeting dates for November and December to adapt to upcoming holidays.
The council will meet Monday, Nov. 9, instead of Nov. 11, which is Veterans Day, because city offices will be closed that day. The council members will meet Monday, Nov. 23, instead of Nov. 25, which is the night before Thanksgiving.
In December, the council will meet only once, on the third Wednesday of the month, Dec. 16, because of hectic schedules during the Christmas season, which could make it difficult to have enough members available for a quorum.
The council may hold work sessions on Nov. 4 and/or Dec. 2, both Wednesdays, if needed.
All City Council meetings and work sessions normally begin at 7 p.m. and are held at City Hall, 711 W. Main St.
The council agreed Oct. 14 to change the meeting schedule.
