Employers looking for workers would be smart to grab a spot in the upcoming Jefferson County Job Fair. Vendor spots are going fast!
Following a year of virtual-only activity, the Job Fair is gearing up for a return to in-person networking for job seekers and prospective employers. The free event is set for 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at the Fox C-6 Service Center, 849 Jeffco Blvd., in Arnold.
A variety of businesses will staff booths with representatives who will talk with prospective employees, take resumes and answer questions.
“We’re excited to once again have the opportunity to help connect businesses who need workers with people in the area who are eager to find a job,” Leader publisher Pam LaPlant said.
Resume specialists from Jefferson College will review participants’ resumes and offer suggestions for cover letters and help with interview skills and more.
A professional photographer will be on hand to take pictures of participants they may use on social media or with their resumes. Attendees also will have the chance to register for attendance prizes and drawings.
A portion of every registration fee benefits the Arnold Chamber of Commerce.
The fair will once again be sponsored by five local entities: Leader Publications, the city of Arnold, the Arnold Chamber of Commerce, the Fox C-6 School District and Jefferson College.
A special section will be published in the Eureka Leader on Aug. 5 and in the other three editions of the Leader on Aug. 12, with detailed information about activities the day of the fair, schedules and profiles of some of the participants.
