Those driving around Byrnes Mill over the next two days could be impacted by culvert pipe replacement on the S turn between Laura Court and Lower Byrnes Mill Road.
From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, the entrance to Laura Court will remain open, but city officials said there is potential for traffic delays in that area.
During the same time frame on Friday, Aug. 15, Lower Byrnes Mill Road between Byrnes Mill City Park and Huff Drive will be closed to traffic.
Inclement weather could affect the project timeline.
City officials encourage motorists to seek alternate routes.
The Byrnes Mill Board of Alderpersons agreed in June to pay $15,050 to P&M Excavation, a House Springs-based contractor, to complete the work. While the city will provide the new culvert pipes, P&M Excavation will install the pipes and handle the gravel and asphalt work.
Byrnes Mill officials said the city will pay for the project with part of its share of funds from a 1/2-cent countywide tax for road and bridge improvements.
