The city of Herculaneum’s water boil order was lifted at about 3 p.m. today, Oct. 14.
The boil order was issued Oct. 9 following a water main break at the intersection of McNutt Street and McNutt School Road that occurred about 23 p.m. that day. The water main was fixed about 1 a.m. Oct. 10.
After that, the city sent two rounds of water samples to a lab to be tested to ensure the water was safe to drink, and the second test came back today, and the city got the OK to lift the order.
Through the duration of the order, the Herculaneum Fire Department had bottled water available. Now that the order has been lifted, the department will stop distributing the water.
