Brookdale Farms farmers market to be held May 10

Brookdale Farms, a business located southeast of Eureka, will hold its first farmers market a week later than initially planned.

The farm, 8004 Twin Rivers Road, announced Wednesday, April 30, that it will hold its first Saturdays at the Farm Farmers Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10.

The farmers market was scheduled to open for the season this Saturday, but it rescheduled to May 10 due to recent inclement weather, marketing specialist Natalie Schultz said.

The first farmers market will be held in conjunction with the Spring Days at Brookdale Farms event, which is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10.

There is no admission fee for either the Saturdays at the Farm Farmers Market or Spring Days at Brookdale Farms. Schultz also said the farm does not charge vendors to participate in the market, and she expects to have more than 100 vendors at the market.

The Spring Days at Brookdale Farms event includes a low ropes course, games, wagon rides, barrel train rides, animal encounters, sling shots, a jump pad, face painting, bubble station and mechanical bull.

“We're hoping this will help bring out a great crowd despite the last-minute date change,” Schultz said of combining the two events.

Brookdale Farms plans to continue holding farmers markets on the first Saturday of each month through Aug. 2.
