Arnold Pooch Plunge

Dogs having fun at the 2015 Arnold Pooch Plunge.

The city of Arnold will hold its annual Pooch Plunge from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 6) at the outdoor pool at the Arnold Recreation Center, 1695 Missouri State Road.

Admission is $5 a dog. Admission for the dog owner is free, but it costs $1 for each additional person accompanying a dog. Proceeds will benefit the city’s two Paw Parks.

The city has one dog park at Arnold City Park on Bradley Beach Road and another at Ferd B. Lang Park on Old Lemay Ferry Road.

At the Pooch Plunge, dogs will be allowed to swim and play freely, unleashed, inside the fenced-in pool area. People may get in the pool with their dogs, but they are asked not to get in the water above their knees.

Each year the city holds the fundraising event to give dogs a chance to swim after Labor Day, when the pool closes for the season and before it’s drained and cleaned for the next year.
