A 36-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both of Arnold, were arrested for alleged possession of heroin and methamphetamine after the two were found slumped over in an SUV on the Starbucks parking lot, 3884 Hwy. 141. The incident happened at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 5, Arnold Police reported.
Police were called to the coffee shop after the pair was seen passed out in the 2009 Pontiac Torrent. A K-9 officer, or police dog, alerted officers to the presence of drugs in the SUV, the report said.
Officers allegedly found a green nylon pouch in the driver’s side, and the pouch contained capsules with residue consistent with heroin, as well as a substance believed to be meth and drug paraphernalia, according to the report.
The man already was wanted in Shrewsbury on a warrant for driving with a revoked license and filing a false report. The two were arrested and taken to the Police Station, and the man was held for the Shrewsbury Police, and the woman was later released pending application for warrants, the report said.
Depending on the drug analysis, Arnold Police will seek charges against the man and woman through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for possession of heroin, meth and drug paraphernalia, Lt. Clinton Wooldridge said.
