A 51-year-old Arnold man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated after he allegedly was driving a pickup in a careless and imprudent fashion at a Mobil on the Run gas station in Arnold. The suspect had been convicted of at least three previous DWI charges and allegedly was driving with a revoked license, Arnold Police reported.
Officers were called to the gas station, 3611 W. Outer Road, at about 11:40 p.m. Nov. 18. When Arnold Police officers arrived, they allegedly saw the man drive over a curb to get onto the gas station parking lot. Then, the man stopped the pickup on the parking lot, the report said.
The driver allegedly refused to perform field sobriety tests, but he was arrested because he appeared intoxicated. The suspect was taken to the Police Station, where he was booked and released pending application for warrants, according to the report.
Cpl. Brett Ackerman said Arnold Police will seek charges against the man through the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for being a persistent DWI offender and for driving with a revoked license.
