A Hillsboro man was seriously injured late Friday afternoon, Sept. 22, in a motorcycle accident on Coffman Bend Drive south of Red Fox Road in Camden County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 4 p.m., Vito A. Corona, 49, of Hillsboro was riding a southbound 2008 Harley-Davidson, crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan head-on. Sterling E. Keplinger, 75, of Warsaw was driving the van, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Keplinger. However, Corona was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, according to the report.
Corona was not wearing a helmet, or at least not a Department of Transportation-approved one, and Keplinger was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
Both the motorcycle and van were totaled, the report said.
