A Valles Mines man was injured while he was riding a motorcycle Saturday evening (Sept. 25) on Hwy. V just south of De Soto.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Richard Reed, 65, was riding a 2005 Harley Davidson Springer south on Hwy. V about three-tenths of a mile south of Berry Dairy Road at 7:15 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and overturned while going down an embankment.
Reed suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Valle Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
An update on his condition was not available.
Reed was not wearing a Highway Patrol-approved safety helmet, the report said. The motorcycle had extensive damage, according to the report.
