A 70-year-old Union man was hurt Thursday afternoon (April 27) in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. M and Moss Hollow Road in Barnhart, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 2:35 p.m., Jerry E. Dingley, 70, of Union was driving a 2014 Doge Journey west in the right lane of Hwy. M and stopped to yield to an emergency vehicle, and Thomas R. Bequette, 56, of Festus, driving a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 west in the left lane of Hwy. M, switched to the right lane, where the front of the Dodge Ram struck the rear of the Journey, the report said.

No injuries were reported for Bequette.

Dingley, however, sustained moderate injuries and was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said this afternoon (April 28).

Both men were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The Journey was extensively damaged, and the Dodge Ram was moderately damaged, the report said.
