An Imperial woman and a woman and child from Pleasant Hill were injured Saturday night (May 6) in an ATV accident on Lakeview Road east of Ocelot Drive in the French Village area of Ste. Genevieve County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 6:54 p.m., a 13-year-old girl from Imperial was riding a 2020 Polaris off-road vehicle east on Lakeview Road when the teen failed to turn left and rode off the right side of the road. The teen overcorrected the vehicle back onto the road, where it overturned and landed on its right side, the patrol reported.
Three passengers on board sustained injuries: Jennifer Bell, 44, of Imperial and Aracelis Hutchings, 41, of Pleasant Hill both had minor injuries. An 8-year-old boy from Pleasant Hill had moderate injuries, the report said.
Bell and Hutchings were taken by Ste. Genevieve County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County. The boy was taken Air Evac helicopter to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.
No injuries were reported for the Imperial teen who was driving the vehicle, according to the report.
The driver and passengers all were wearing safety helmets, according to the report.
The ATV had minor damage, the report said.
