Two men and an infant were injured in a crash on Hwy. 67 at Hwy. Y near Valles Mines Nov. 25, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:50 p.m., Robert L. Wideman, 67, of De Soto was driving a westbound 2013 Chevrolet Equinox and failed to yield to a northbound 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by David M. Jacobs, 61, of Normal, Ill., the report said. Jacobs swerved to the left, struck the front of the Equinox, and ran off the left side of the road, striking two signs and coming to a stop in the southbound lanes.
According to the report, Wideman and Jacobs were moderately injured, and a passenger in Wideman’s vehicle, a male infant from De Soto, received minor injuries.
All were taken by St. Francois County Ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur, where the hospital did not have their information listed, a hospital spokeswoman said.
According to the report, Wideman, Jacobs and the infant passenger were wearing safety devices, and the vehicles were extensively damaged.
The patrol did not release the infant’s name because he is a juvenile.
