traffic accident 3

Two drivers were injured, one seriously, this morning (Sept. 12) in a two-vehicle accident east of De Soto, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

At 6:15 a.m., Sheila A. Anderson, 47, of St. Louis was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee south on Hwy. 67, and Isaiah T. Wougamon, 24, of Bonne Terre, in an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt, stopped on Flucom Road but while attempting to cross southbound Hwy. 67, pulled into the Jeep’s path, the report said.

The front of the Jeep struck the left side of the Cobalt, according to the report.

Anderson was moderately hurt, and Wougamon was seriously injured, and they were taken by Joachim Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City. He was later tranferred to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur where he is listed in critical condition, a Mercy St. Louis spokeswoman said today (Sept. 13).

Anderson was treated and released, a Mercy Jefferson spokesman reported.

Anderson was wearing a seat belt and Wougamon was not wearing one, the patrol reported.

Both vehicles were totaled, the report states.
