Two Illinois women were injured Sept. 27 in a two-vehicle crash on Miller Road at Hwy. 61-67 near Arnold, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 3 p.m. Linda L. Grohs, 79, of Belleville, Ill., was driving an eastbound 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan and reportedly drove onto Hwy. 61-67, failing to yield to a southbound 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Scott D. White, 43, of Festus. The Chevrolet struck the rear of the Dodge, the report said.
Grohs and a passenger, Susan A. Verdun, 71, of O’Fallon, Ill., were moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, the report said.
As of Monday evening, Sept. 30, Verdun was in critical condition and Grohs in satisfactory condition, according to a hospital spokesman.
Verdun, Grohs and White were all wearing seat belts, the Chevrolet was totaled, and the Dodge was extensively damaged, the report said.
