Arnold Tenbrook Road was closed for almost two hours this morning, Oct. 26, after a tractor-trailer struck and knocked down a utility pole near the Arnold Public Works Department. An Ameren spokesman said the pole was for a streetlight and no service was interrupted in Arnold.
A 48-year-old California man driving a 2022 International Harvester ran into the pole at about 6 a.m. while exiting the Public Works Department parking lot, 2912 Arnold Tenbrook Road. CR England of Indiana owns the tractor-trailer, the report said.
Arnold Police did not report the driver’s name.
The pole fell onto the passenger side of the tractor-trailer, blocking both lanes, according to the report.
No injuries were reported for the driver, and no estimate was given for the damage to the pole or the tractor-trailer.
Ameren was notified about the accident at 6:12 a.m., and the accident was cleared by 7:42 a.m., Arnold Police reported.
Detective Lt. Jeremy Christopher said Arnold Police are not seeking charges against the driver because the incident was accidental.
