Three died, including a 64-year-old House Springs woman, in a Franklin County crash Sunday, Sept. 24, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:55 a.m. in St. Clair, Tina E. Degonia of House Springs was allegedly traveling the wrong direction on westbound I-44 in a 2020 Jeep Cherokee and struck Sabrina H. Sutton, 26, of Fishers, Ind., in a 2017 Nissan Rogue, Aleah R. Bingham, 21, of Kirkwood in a 2010 Toyota Corolla and Julie A. Witherspoon, 59, of Shell Knob in a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the report said.

According to the report, Degonia and Sutton were taken by St. Clair Ambulance to Mercy Hospital Washington where they were pronounced dead by hospital personnel.

A passenger in the car with Sutton, Rachel E. Worley, 27, of Fishers, Ind., was pronounced dead and transported by Superior Mortuary Transport to St. Louis County Morgue.

Witherspoon received minor injuries and was taken by Union Ambulance to Mercy Washington, where she was treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The report said all drivers and Worley were wearing seat belts.

The 2020 Cherokee, the Rogue and the Corolla were totaled, and the Grand Cherokee was extensively damaged, the report said.
