Two adults and one 11-year-old girl, all of Arnold, were injured Monday afternoon, Dec. 26, in a two-vehicle accident at Hwy. 100 and Cromwell Drive in Franklin County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 2:17 p.m., Gregory T. Cole, 61, of Washington, Mo., was driving west in a 2013 Acura MDX when he allegedly became distracted, crossed the center line of the road and struck an eastbound 2017 Hyundai Sonata driven by Sean D. Sutton, 48, of Arnold, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Cole.
However, Sutton and an 11-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Sonata had minor injuries, while another passenger in the Sonata, Michelle L. Mercer, 54, of Arnold, was seriously injured, the report said.
All three were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis in Creve Coeur. Sutton was treated and released, but information on Mercer’s and the girl’s conditions was not available.
According to the report, both drivers and the injured passengers were wearing seat belts.
The vehicles were totaled, the report said.
The patrol did not release the 11-year-old’s name because she is a juvenile.
