Three Fox High School students were hurt in a two-vehicle accident this morning (Oct. 2) on Tenbrook Road just east of Jeffco Boulevard near the Fox schools campus in Arnold, Arnold Police Capt. Robert Ruckman said.

At 7:14 a.m., a 17-year-old Arnold man, driving a 1994 Pontiac Grand Am, had turned from Jeffco onto Tenbrook, headed east, and was trying to make a left turn into the Walgreens store entrance when he pulled into the path of a westbound pickup, which struck the car broadside, Ruckman said.

The 17-year-old driver was not injured, but three of the four passengers in the Grand Am were hurt, Ruckman said.

Neither the driver of the pickup, a 1990 Chevrolet 1500, or the passenger in the pickup was hurt, Ruckman added.

The driver and all four passengers in the Grand Am are Fox High students, and three of those passengers sustained minor injuries – a 17-year-old Arnold male who was a riding in the front seat, as well as a 17-year-old Arnold male and an 18-year-old Arnold female, both riding in the back.

Another passenger riding in the back was not hurt, Ruckman said.

The injured students were taken by ambulance to an area hospital, Ruckman said.

He would not release the names of those involved in the accident.

Ruckman said the driver of the Grand Am was cited for failure to yield.

He was wearing a seat belt and so was the passenger in the front seat of the Grand Am, Ruckman said.

None of the passengers riding in the back was wearing a seat belt, Ruckman said.

He said the driver and the passenger in the pickup were wearing seat belts.
