An Affton man was killed Friday night, Sept. 15, when he was walking across the road at I-270 and I-55 in south St. Louis County and was struck by a car driven by a Hillsboro man, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 11:29 p.m., Jonathon W. Stafford, 25, of Hillsboro was driving a 2010 Ford Mustang on the southbound ramp from I-270 to southbound I-55 and struck Thomas P. Hartog, 43, of Affton, who was trying to walk across the road. Stafford was unable to see the man on the road, the report said.
Hartog was pronounced dead at the scene.
No injuries were reported for Stafford, according to the report.
Stafford was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.
The Mustang was moderately damaged, the report said.
