A teenage girl from Festus was injured late Saturday evening (Aug. 28) while riding an ATV in Ripley County east of Doniphan.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that the 13-year-old girl was riding a 2017 Polaris Sportsman ATV east on County Road 160 W-3, about a half-mile south of Hwy. 160, at 11:19 p.m. when the ATV ran off the road and into a ditch, where it overturned, throwing the girl off.
The girl sustained moderate injuries and was taken by car to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, the report said.
An update on her condition was not available.
The Highway Patrol does not release the names of juveniles involved in traffic accidents.
The girl was not wearing a safety helmet, the report said. The ATV had minor damage.
