A 37-year-old Ste. Genevieve man was arrested Monday night (Oct. 17) for allegedly driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license after he crashed the car he was driving on Diehl Road east of Old Sugar Creek Road in Cedar Hill, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.

The Ste. Genevieve man and his passenger, Crystal L. Whitter, 37, of Herculaneum, were hurt in the accident, the report said.

At 8 p.m., the man was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Am east on Diehl Road, crossed the center line and ran off the left side of the road, where the car struck a tree, according to the report.

The man sustained moderate injuries, and Whitter minor injuries, and they both were taken by Rock Township Ambulance to St. Anthony’s Medical Center in south St. Louis County, the report said.

The man was listed in satisfactory condition, and Whitter had been treated and released, a hospital spokesman said Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 18).

Both were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.

The car was totaled, the report said.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested the man for suspicion of DWI and driving while revoked, both felonies, the report said.
