A St. Louis man was seriously hurt this morning (July 1) when he crashed a pickup on I-55 north of Imperial, which shut down lanes in both direction for about an hour, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.

At 9:32 a.m., Walter R. Noll, 35 of St. Louis was driving a 1997 Ford F150 north on the interstate and ran off the right side of the road before overcorrecting, which caused the pickup to return to the road and overturn, the report said.

Noll was taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County, according to the report.

However, the hospital had no information about him, a Mercy spokesman said.

Noll was not wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The pickup was totaled, the report said.

Two northbound lanes and one southbound lane were closed in the area until about 10:30 a.m., said Cpl. Juston Wheetley of the highway patrol.
