A St. Louis man was injured Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 61 north of Paulanna Estates Drive south of Festus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 5:58 p.m., Justin L. Toenges, 43, of St. Louis was driving a 2020 Ford T-350 transit van south on the highway, and while he was turning left, Tasha L. Null, 33, of Festus, who was driving a southbound 2014 Toyota Sienna minivan, tried to pass in the northbound lane, and the front right side of the minivan struck the front left side of the transit van, the report said.
No injuries were reported for Null. However, Toenges was moderately injured and taken by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis County, where he was treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The two vehicles were extensively damaged, the report said.
