An Arnold man and woman and a St. Louis man were hurt early this morning (Feb. 29) in a two-vehicle accident on Hwy. 141 at Hwy. 21 north of Arnold. The St. Louis man was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported.
At 12:30 a.m., the 51-year-old St. Louis man was driving a 2019 Jeep Wrangler south on Hwy. 141 and allegedly failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with Hwy. 21 and while turning left, reportedly pulled into the path of a northbound Jeep Liberty driven by Mary R. King, 61, of Arnold. The front of the Wrangler struck the front of the Liberty, the report said.
The St. Louis man and King, as well as a passenger in the Liberty – Ronald W. King, 64, of Arnold – were moderately injured and taken by Rock Township Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South in south St. Louis County.
All three were wearing seat belts, the patrol reported.
The two vehicles were totaled, the report said.
The highway patrol arrested the St. Louis man at the hospital for an alleged DWI resulting in physical injury.
